Terms & Conditions
The terms that govern every booking and journey with Socotra Sun Tour.
1. Agreement
When you submit an enquiry or confirm a booking with Socotra Sun Tour, you enter into an agreement with us and accept these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before booking.
2. Bookings and payments
Bookings are confirmed once we receive your deposit. A deposit of 30% of the total price secures your dates; the balance is due no later than 45 days before arrival. For bookings made within 45 days of travel, full payment is required at confirmation.
3. Prices and inclusions
Prices are quoted per person and include the services listed on each tour page: accommodation, meals, island transport, guiding and permits. International flights to Socotra and personal expenses are not included unless stated. We reserve the right to adjust prices for fuel surcharges or currency movements before your booking is confirmed.
4. Passports, permits and visas
You are responsible for carrying a valid passport (minimum six months validity) and for any visas required for travel to Yemen. We arrange island permits and internal logistics; failure to provide accurate passport details may delay or prevent your journey.
5. Health and fitness
Our journeys involve walking over uneven terrain, boat crossings and remote camping. You should be in reasonable physical condition and disclose any medical conditions that could affect your participation. We can discuss accessibility requirements on request.
6. Travel insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance, including medical evacuation cover, is strongly recommended, and we may ask for proof of cover before travel. Insurance should cover cancellation, medical care and adventure activities.
7. Behaviour and safety
You agree to follow the instructions of our guides and to respect local communities, customs and the natural environment of Socotra. We reserve the right to remove from a journey any participant whose behaviour endangers others or damages the island.
8. Our responsibility
We act with care and skill in arranging your journey. Our liability is limited to the value of the services we provide, except where liability cannot be limited by law. We are not liable for events beyond our reasonable control — see Force Majeure below.
9. Force majeure
If travel is prevented or materially affected by circumstances beyond our control — including war, civil unrest, natural disasters, weather, flight cancellations or government restrictions — we will work to offer an alternative date or a refund of recoverable costs, in line with our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
10. Complaints
If something does not meet your expectations, tell us on the ground so we can put it right immediately. After your journey, email hello@socotrasuntour.com and we will respond within 14 days.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Yemen, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
